Most salary figures online for Jordan are estimates or years out of date. These come from job ads actually posted in Amman.
Base salary doesn't tell the whole story in this job. Commission is a real part of the income, and most ads mention it.

| Experienced | 400–450 JOD |
Jordan's minimum wage is 290 JOD and is fixed until the end of 2027. That exact figure comes up constantly in clothing sales ads — entry level here usually starts at the floor.
Commission. This is the big one. Most ads offer commission on sales on top of the base, so the base alone understates what people actually take home.
Where you work. Small shops start at minimum wage. Brands and mall stores pay more, and ask for experience and English.
Season. Mall hours are longer, and they stretch further around Eid and sale periods. Some ads offer extra incentives during those weeks.
From the ads we read:
When you ask about a job, ask what the commission rate is and how it's calculated — not just the salary.
Job ads posted on Jordanian sites in September 2026, for clothing sales roles in Amman. 290 was the single most repeated figure in entry-level ads.
We didn't use international salary sites. Their Jordan figures are far from the real market, and some confuse B2B sales reps with shop-floor staff — two very different jobs on pay.
